Is Pride Beauty Lounge Accessible?

Pride Beauty Lounge is a semi-accessible facility meaning we do have a ramp at the entrance, however, our doors are not automatic. Furniture can be moved around such as leveling the pedicure chair to the ground, trained staff in chair transfers. Pride Beauty Lounge's washroom facilities are not wheelchair friendly at this time. We have plans for renovations such as installing an automatic door, widening doorframes, renovating our bathroom, and creating an accessible parking spot. Please see our "Inclusive Practices" page for a detailed description of how we try to be inclusive.
If you require any accommodations, please let us know and we will do everything in our power to support you.

Is Sliding-Scale Available?

Yes, we have sliding scale pay rates available. We believe self-care is an essential part of our lives and beauty services are identity affirming. We would like everybody to have the opportunity to enjoy Pride Beauty Lounge and therefore we do not believe in tip-shaming and sliding scale prices are available. If you are interested in booking a sliding scale service, please email us to let us know. There are limited spaces available for sliding scale appointments.

Is Pride Beauty Lounge only for the LGBTQ2+ community?

Absolutely not. We identify as a queer space because we are 100% queer-owned and operated, have inclusive practices, and want to emphasize our commitment to being a safe space for the LGBTQ2+ community. Pride Beauty Lounge is an inclusive environment, we welcome everybody.

What is a "Safer Space"?

The term safe space generally means “a place or environment in which a person or category of people can feel confident that they will not be exposed to discrimination, criticism, harassment or any other emotional or physical harm.” (Oxford Dictionary).
Pride Beauty Lounge identifies as a safe space because of our employee training program, policies and procedures, and company values and mission. Pride is owned and operated by a certified mental health counselor, Tori Sullivan who spent years in the mental health and community services industry and developed policies and protection for queer folks, BIPOC, and the disabled community.
